Tutoring Experience

I have taught tuition for many years across the various streams. I am familiar with all the syllabus from Sec 1 to Sec 5 and from NA to NT. I am approachable and I teach students ways and means to identify the questions and also to group questions into various types and show them how to use the quickest and easiest method to solve these questions. I also use videos at times to illustrate certain concept for the visual learners. I also will respond to student’s questions via Whatsapp when I’m not having lessons with them.  During NIE, I scored an A for the teaching of Mathematics.

I aim to expose students to various types of questions and seek to build their understanding. I will also point out to them common exam questions and help them to arrive at the answers. This builds their logical thinking and they will be able to solve tougher questions. I have managed to get many of my students to transit to a higher level of math through Subject Based Banding (NA student taking Express Math).

I have taught students with special needs. I have handled student who are dyslexic, mild autism, ADHD and students who have had depression. They have all scored B3 and above in their exams and national exams.

I have taught NT students before. My Sec 3NT student who took NA math scored an A1 for his NA math in 2019. I taught him since Sec 2. He failed his Sec 1 NA exam. Furthermore, in Damai Sec, I am teaching the Sec 4 NT math for 2020. So I am familiar with the profile of students. I am also teaching S1 and Sec 3 CPA which is a subject dedicated for NT students. If the child has a question for CPA, I can also answer on top of Math.

In 2019, all my tutess scored A1 or A2 for Emath and for Amath as well. Over the years, none of my student have attained a grade lower than a B3 for the O Level or N Level.
